Flight tickets
You are responsible for booking and paying for your own flight tickets. The International Office at Örebro University does not book flight tickets for participants.
Your Erasmus+ grant includes Travel Support as a contribution towards your travel costs.
The grant includes Travel Support as a contribution towards your travel costs. However, the grant is paid after your arrival in Örebro, so you will need to purchase your flight tickets using your own funds.

Visa support
If you are a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA, you will in most cases need a residence permit to study in Sweden. You should not apply for your residence permit until after you have received your Letter of Acceptance. You can be granted a residence permit for a maximum of one or two years, but not for longer than your studies will last. You can never be granted a residence permit for longer than your passport is valid.
Please note that Örebro University cannot assist you in the visa/residence permit application process.

About the grant
Travel Support is a fixed amount intended to contribute towards your travel costs. The amount is based on the distance between your home institution and Örebro University.
The Travel Support is part of your total Erasmus+ grant.
Living Support is a contribution towards your living expenses during your stay in Örebro.
The exact amount you will receive is specified in your Grant Agreement.
Some students may be eligible for additional financial support, called Inclusion Support, depending on their individual circumstances and it is 250 EUR per month.
You will be asked to provide the relevant information in your Grant Agreement Form. Additional documentation will be required to confirm your eligibility.
No. The Erasmus+ grant is a financial contribution and does not cover all expenses related to your mobility. You should therefore be prepared to cover any additional costs yourself.
Most of your grant (90%) is paid after you arrive in Örebro. Before the payment is made, the accommodation cost for your entire stay is deducted from the grant. The final 10% is paid after your mobility, provided that you have completed all required steps.
The grant is paid in two instalments in accordance with Erasmus+ requirements. A final part of the grant is paid after the mobility, once all required steps have been completed.
At Örebro University, we pay 90% of the grant after arrival, which allows you to receive as much of your funding as possible at the beginning of your mobility. The remaining 10% is paid after the mobility, once all requirements have been fulfilled.
No. The first grant payment is made after you have arrived in Örebro. You should therefore make sure that you have access to your own funds to cover any expenses you may have before receiving your grant.
Your accommodation cost for the entire stay is deducted from your first grant payment. This means that the amount transferred to your Paygoo card will be lower than 90% of the total grant.
Your grant will be paid to a Paygoo card. You must collect your Paygoo card in person at Info Center at Örebro University. You will need to show valid identification when collecting the card.
Please remember that the university is closed on weekends, so the card can only be collected on weekdays during Info Center's opening hours.

Kenya
The School of Medical Sciences arranges your accommodation. Please contact the School if you have questions about your housing arrangements: international.MV@oru.se
You do not need to make any rent payment. The accommodation cost for your entire stay will be deducted from your Erasmus+ grant before your grant is paid to you.
No. The rent for your entire stay will be deducted from your Erasmus+ grant before your first payment. This means that you do not need to make a separate rent payment before arrival.
