Printing and copying - students

In order to use the university’s printing/copying service, eduPrint, your University Card needs to be activated for printing and topped up in order to pay for the desired number of pages. Here follows instructions on how to proceed.

Begin by registering your University Card at the student portal Studenttjänster by following the instructions under the button University Card. As a student you may also use your University Card as a keycard, a borrower's card at the University Library and IT Services, as well as for printing.

You activate your University Card for printing directly at the printer. Lay your card on the little black box on the printer. After a beep is heard at the printer, identify yourself using your ORU account. The next time you place your card here, you will be logged in automatically. Note: you can always log in to a printer using your ORU account, even without your University Card.

There are two ways for topping up your printing account. One is by transfering credit via DIBS and the other is by purchasing a voucher at the Info Centre or the University Library.

DIBS is a digital payment service used to top up your printing account when needed. Please note that DIBS is not accessible for all international students.

Use DIBS to transfer credit to your printing account:

A voucher is similar to a gift certificate that you upload to your printing account. Vouchers have a value in SEK of either 20, 50 or 100.

  • Buy vouchers at the Info Centre or at the University Library's reception (Campus Örebro) – card payments only.
  • Log in to the Papercut print portal with your ORU account.
  • Select Redeem Card in the left menu to register the voucher.
  • Type in the long code on the voucher and select Redeem Card (green button). Your account is now topped up.
  • Review your account balance in the Papercut print portal  by selecting Summary in the left menu.

You may use the computers in computer rooms or in the University Library to print. If you want to be able to print from your own device, you need to first be able to send a print job from your device to the printers. There are two ways you can do this, via Mobility print and via Web printing.

Mobility print means that you send a job directly to a printer from the application you are using on your device. Printing may be customised according to your needs.

  • To use mobility print, you need to be connected to the university’s wireless network, eduroam. Here you may find more information about how to connect to eduroam.
  • Log in to the Papercut print portal with your ORU account.
  • Select Mobility print guide in the left menu.
  • Select the device you want to see instructions for. Mobility print works on all devices.
  • Continue by following the on-screen instructions for the device you want to print from.
  • After connecting your device to Mobility print, you can print any document directly from your device.
  • Now go to any printer on campus and log in with your University Card or ORU account.
  • Select Släpp utskriftsjobb on the printer to print.

Web printing means that you can print from your account no matter what device you are using. With web printing it is only possible to print double-sided and in black and white.

  • Log in to the Papercut print portal with your ORU account.
  • Select Web print in the left menu.
  • Select Submit a Job (green button).
  • Select a printer and then Print Options and Account Selection (green button) to continue. Please note that only black and white and double sided prints are possible using web printing.
  • Type in the number of copies and select Upload Documents (green button) to continue.
  • Select Upload from computer (green button) to upload your file and select Upload & Complete (green button) to continue.
  • Now go to any printer on campus and log in with your University Card or ORU account.
  • Select Släpp utskriftsjobb on the printer to print.

Follow these instructions to copy your material:

  • Go to any printer on campus and login with your University Card or ORU account.
  • Select Enhetsrutiner and then click Kopiator.
  • Place the document on the glass or in the top feeder. Make desired setup changes, e.g. Svartvit (black and white), Fullfärg (colour), etc. Select Start to copy.

Please note that all copying functions are in Swedish. Please contact the Info Centre, IT-services' help desk or the University Library information desk for further assistance with setup changes.

Follow the following instructions to scan your material:

  • Go to any printer on campus and login with your University Card or ORU account.
  • Select Scan.
  • Place the document on the glass or in the top feeder. Make desired setup changes using Settings.
  • Your material will be scanned into a fictitious email address, which in turn is forwarded to your regular email address. The scanned material should turn up in your email inbox. If need be, please also check your junk mailbox.
  • Select Start scanning. It may take some time before your scanned document is received in your inbox.

If your University Card is lost or stolen, it is important to block it for all the services that you have activated, i.e. keycard, borrower’s card and printing.

  • Login to Studenttjänster (Student Services) with your ORU account.
  • Click the button University Card.
  • Disable all features – key card (entrances and computer rooms) and loan card (University Library and IT Services) – so that no marks remain, and save. It can take a few minutes before it is saved. A spinning gears icon beside the text shows that the system is updating. When the icon disappears, you are almost ready:
  • Block the card entirely by clicking the button Block card. This can only be done if the three functions are not marked.
  • Now login to the Papercut print portal with your ORU account.
  • Select Change details to the left.
  • Select Generate details. Your University Card is now blocked for printing.
  • Visit the Info Centre to get a new University Card.
