Software from computer rooms – distance learning
IT Services has made selected programs, such as Matlab, SPSS, NVivo and Microsoft Office, accessible via a webpage that provides access to a local virtual IT environment called RDSH.
As a student, you have access to the webpage from any computer. Access the RDSH online environment here. We are expanding the list of programs available, even if not all programs may be available.
Log in to RDSH
You log in with your ORU account and password (same as you do in computer rooms).
To open files from Blackboard, email, OneDrive or similar, you must first open the web browser Edge once you are in the RDSH environment. Next, download the file(s) to the RDSH home directory by clicking download. Files will be found in the Downloads folder, and you can open them with the programs in RDSH.
If a program is missing or if programs are not working correctly, contact .

Any material you have had stored on Microsoft’s servers will be deleted.

Azure Dev Tools for Teaching
Active students at Örebro University have access to Azure Dev Tools for Teaching. Azure Dev Tools also includes Microsoft's standard developer tools and software. The application area is mainly scientific/technical studies or for evaluation purposes. Azure Dev Tools for Teaching does not however provide access to MS Office.
Azure Dev Tools for Teaching uses a web-based system (ELMS) to distribute Microsoft software and product keys via the Internet. In Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, each user must accept the terms before the software can be downloaded.
Note! When you have logged in, you need to type in Education in the search box and press the Enter key on the keyboard. This will take you to the software hub from where you are able to download software.
As a student at Örebro University, you may now download and install Matlab on your personal computer.
You can access the installation files on Student Services and the IT Services menu.
As a student, you may purchase a discounted SPSS license. The license is valid for 1 academic year and expires 31 August. Student rate is 800 SEK/licensing period. You may order and pay for your license at Student Services Centre in Långhuset. Requirements: enrolment on a course at ORU, a laptop and an email address.
