Upgrade of Kaltura

Planned Service Interruption: Upgrade of Sunet Play / Kaltura, May 10–11, 2025

We would like to inform you that a major upgrade of the media service will be carried out during the weekend of May 10–11, 2025. This upgrade is part of the ongoing technical modernization of the platform and involves replacing the underlying infrastructure and implementing a new version.

What does this mean for you as a user?
During the upgrade window, the system will be largely unavailable. This will affect access to video materials as well as the ability to upload or record new content. The interruption applies to all users – students, teachers, and administrative staff.

We expect the service to be inaccessible for the entire period, from the morning of Saturday, May 10, through Sunday, May 11.

What should you do?
Avoid planning any video recordings or editing in Sunet Play / Kaltura during these dates.
If you need to watch a lecture or other video content by Monday morning, make sure to do so before Friday afternoon, as the system will not be available.
If you have video content to be uploaded to Sunet Play / Kaltura, do so before the upgrade window or plan to upload it afterward.
Inform relevant colleagues, students, and other users that the system will be temporarily unavailable.

When will  Kaltura be available again?
The service is expected to be accessible again from Monday, May 12, after the upgrade has been completed and validated.
