Sharps waste (non-infectious)

Waste consisting of metal objects capable of cutting or piercing, e.g. cannulas, lancets, knife blades, razor blades, scalpels and needles, must be put in plastic or metal safety containers marked “sharps waste” and disposed of in the same way as infectious waste. 

Waste consisting of glass objects capable of cutting or piercing, e.g. glass, must be put in a plastic jar which, once full, must be sealed and disposed of as combustible waste (Campus Almby: Place in a waste container at the loading dock at Goods Reception F).
