The recruitment process at ORU

At Örebro University, we use the web-based recruitment tool ReachMee, which means that applications will be processed electronically. When you apply for a job at Örebro University, you upload your application documents to this system.

  • No, the application documents that are in the recruitment system after the application deadline are the basis for the assessment and may not be supplemented afterwards.
  • Applicants for doctoral positions, however, have the opportunity to supplement their application with course degrees and certificates.
  • The time for how long a recruitment process takes after the application deadline has passed varies depending on the position and depending on how many candidates applied for the position. 
  • For doctoral students, the recruitment process can take between 1-4 months. All application documents are assessed by the admissions unit and the recruiting school.
  • For the appointment of research and teaching staff, the recruitment process can take 2-9 months depending on the type of position. All application documents are reviewed by the recruiting school. For permanent employments as teachers, external experts are hired to assess the candidates' merits and competences. An academic appointments committee makes an overall assessment and makes proposals to the Dean or Head of School to decide on employment.
  • For technical administrative staff, the recruitment process is 1-3 months depending on the position and number of applications. All applications are assessed based on the requirements in the advertisement and linked to the candidate's merit and competence.
  • During the recruitment process, you will receive information about how the process proceeds when the application deadline has passed. You will also receive information when any external experts have been appointed and whether you will be called for an interview.
  • If the application process has been delayed, you will receive information about this.
  • When a decision on employment has been made, the other applicants for the position receive information about the decision and the process for the appeal.

No. As a government authority, we assess your submitted application documents. We assess you according to merit and competence as well as based on the requirements in the employment profile.

  • When a decision of employment has been made, those who applied for the position without having been appointed receive information on how to appeal the decision.
  • The admission/appointment as a doctoral student cannot be appealed.

Please note that we save your application documents for 2 years after the appointment decision has become legally binding in accordance with the regulations of the National Archives of Sweden.
