Laboratory assistant in Chemistry

We are looking for a laboratory assistant for a fixed-term position at the School of Science and Technology at Örebro University.
Background
The position is located at the Man-Technology-Environment research centre (MTM) in the group of Metabolomics and exposomics. The research at MTM focuses on applied research on chemicals in the environment. The research at the Metabolomics and exposomics group is focused on the development of novel analytical and computational tools for metabolomics and exposome research, and apply them in the investigations of human health and disease, with the goal to investigate the links between environmental factors and human health.
We seek a laboratory assistant for sample preparation and analysis of biological samples in ongoing research projects.
Duties and responsibilities
Duties consist of laboratory work in ongoing research activities with a focus on the preparation of biological samples and their analysis with LC-MS and GC-MS.
Qualifications
The person we are looking for has a BSc or MSc in the area of analytical chemistry or bioanalytical chemistry, or a related field.
You should have relevant laboratory experience in sample preparation of biological samples. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential. Experience with mass spectrometry (LC-MS, GC_MS) is advantageous. You should be organized, methodical, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Fluency in English is required.

Information
This is a fixed-term full-time position for 12 months. At Örebro University, salary depends on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
