The group has extensive knowledge and experience in research about the effects of lifestyle behaviors with a focus on physical activity and dietary habits on health outcomes throughout life.

Our research group focuses on primary and secondary prevention strategies aiming to reduce the occurrence of risk factors and prevent the disease development. The research focuses on eating and exercise habits from several perspectives – medical, physiological, psychological and social, depicting the impact of lifestyle habits on risk factors for the development of diseases such as diabetes taking into account gender, ethnicity and socioeconomic status.

The research group is also involved in implementation of prevention models to promote healthy eating and exercise habits using digital tools. The research is interdisciplinary and involves researchers in nutrition and physical activity epidemiology, physiology, molecular biology, psychology and health economics.

Research projects take place in close collaboration with primary care and also involve other regional and municipal organizations, and are conducted in collaboration with national and international research groups.
