Research subject

The Physiology group is active in research involving the benefits of physical activity or the risks of physical inactivity, mainly in studies addressing the development of atherosclerosis. We contribute to the cardiovascular disease research area with our competence and skills in physiological measurements including ultrasound measures of vessels and heart dimensions and functions.

The role of physical activity/inactivity is also studied in specific subgroups such as children with cerebral pares and studies of subjective wellbeing in the elderly.

The aim of our research is to contribute with epidemiological as well as mechanistic rationales for primary prevention of cardiovascular disease.
