Many patients at departments of prosthetics and orthotics suffer from different foot-related conditions. Although many of the people have less serious inconveniences, the group consumes substantial resources because of its size and long waiting times to the appointment are common. As a consequence, people have to suffer for long periods and the staff experiences stress and high work load. The purpose of this study is to investigate if drop-in for people in need of foot orthoses could improve the situation. This will be investigated by comparing the effects of drop-in and scheduled appoints on waiting times, service, stress and work load.
