The Kvarntorp waste deposit consists of different shale by products and was deposited during the 1940, 1950 and the 1960s. Due to the chemical content the temperature inside the deposit is still very high (>700 gr C). The aim of the project is to increase the understanding about what chemical reactions that occur in the waste deposit and how the leaching of metals will be affected by the future decreasing temperatures.
