Preeclampsia and microRNA expression in the placenta

From the large placenta sample collection at Örebro University Hospital, 26 placenta samples exposed to early-onset preeclampsia, 33 samples exposed to late-onset preeclampsia, 41 samples exposed to gestational hypertension and 47 control samples have been identified. These will be studied for their total microRNA expression and the findings will be processed bioinformatically with the aim of increasing our knowledge of mechanisms behind the feared pregnancy complication preeclampsia.
