About this team
Within this theme we study socio-economic change in the urban and regional landscape. The research include issues like network policy and regional partnerships, local conditions for female entrepreneurship, the impact of entrepreneurship and in-migration on regional change in old industrial regions, the impact of the hospitality and tourism sector in rural areas, cultural and industrial heritage as a source for local development. The research also addresses questions about knowledge transfer and labour market mobility in different sectors and in different urban and regional settings. In the field of urban development a number of issues are addressed, including renewal of large housing estates, social sustainability, and problems related to segregation and integration, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and urban planning. The research group has wide-spread contacts and organized partnerships with different actors at the local, regional and national level.
