Research environments
The research group conducts subject-specific education research in the sciences, technology, engineering, mathematics, and the aesthetic disciplines (STEAM). A shared area of interest is how teaching, learning and the development of knowledge can be promoted within and across these fields, from preschool education through to higher education.When innovative and aesthetic perspectives are integrated into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), the term STEAM is used, with the ‘A’ standing for Art.
The group’s research involves both subject-specific studies and interdisciplinary projects. A central focus is the development of knowledge and teaching practices that strengthen subject knowledge and contribute to the development of sustainability competencies.
