About Annika Andersson

My major areas of research are IT & learning, Information- and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D) and Information Security. Between 2005-2010 I was working in two e-learning projects in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, and between 2010-2013 I was involved in a large IT & Learning project in Sweden called UnosUno. UnosUno analyzed the effects of the one-laptop-one-student-project in 25 Swedish schools. At present I am also researching the process of Information security standard making. In my thesis I used Structuration Theory to explore the enactment of different educational structures and in the UnosUno project I worked with an Action Research approach. Presently I am mainly using Discourse analysis and Structuration Theory for my research.

I am also a PhD-supervisor in the research school “Technology mediated knowledge processes in higher education and working life”. This school is jointly run by Örebro University and Högskolan Dalarna. I am also working as an associate editor for the top-ranking journal in the field of ICT4D - Information Technologies for Development.

My teaching mainly concerns thesis supervision at Bachelor- and Masterlevel as well as the introduction course to systems development and computer science.
