Research subject

Information security can be roughly divided into technical, formal and informal security. Our research group focuses on the latter two. Formal security concerns information security management at an organisational level, while informal security is about peoples’ values and attitudes that affect how they act on information security issues. The knowledge we develop helps us to understand how information security management systems can be developed, implemented and evaluated, but also helps us to understand how different technologies in society should be designed with respect to peoples’ preferences about information security. The research is in part conduct within the national research programme SECURIT which is funded by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency. The research programme includes FOI, Gothenburg University, Linköping University, Chalmers and KTH.
