About Gustav Westberg

Gustav Westberg is Associate Professor of Swedish language. His research is anchored in multimodal critical discourse analysis and revolves around the material and affective prerequisites of discourses. Currently, he studies how notions of ‘authenticity’ are negotiated when clothes, food and other commodities are branded as Sámi. Furthermore, he does research on contemporary political extremism and how it re-emerges through embodied semiotics. Together with collegues from the research enviroment LARS, he also explores the relationship between international air traveling, communication and affect.

Gustav teaches at the BA programme Language, Rhetoric, and Communicative Leadership, as well as on the teacher programme.
