The project aims to provide new knowledge if and how attitudes to and willingness to pay for different systems among unprotected road users (both cyclists and pedestrians) are affected by whether they are compulsory / voluntary or tax / private financed.

Within this purpose, we also aim to describe how the results can be used in cost-benefit analysis in some examples.

The goal is to generate solid and comprehensive basis for decisions aimed at making cycling, and possibly (electric) scooters, a more attractive alternative for travelers by increasing the safety of unprotected road users in urban environments.

Keywords: Willingness to pay, bicyclists and pedestrians, interval regression.
