Research subject

Prostate cancer is a global health problem, and the major challenge is to identify a potentially aggressive prostate tumor at the time of diagnosis. Gleason score, PSA and tumor spread are valuable parameters, but they can unfortunately not be used to identify aggressive tumors where treatment is needed. This study aims to collect data and archive material from patients with prostate cancer, treated with radical prostatectomy at Örebro University Hospital. DNA, RNA and protein from immunoregulating genes will be extracted and evaluated as potential prognostic factors.
