Research subject

Today, fall injuries kill and disable more people than all other injury mechanisms combined, the worst affected are the old and sick. In the project One fracture is enough! we want to reduce fall injuries and osteoporosis fractures by introducing a tailored care process in three tracks based on the degree of frailty including optimization before surgery, osteoporosis treatment, nursing care and rehabilitation for elderly people with hip fractures. The introduction of a care process based on degree of frailty can contribute to more individualized and person-centered care and prevent patients from breaking again. With the project, we investigate the effects of the implementation with regard to adherence to the new care process and osteoporosis-related complications.
