International medical evacuation in crises and wars (IMEC)
About this project
Project information
Medical evacuations (medevac) means to transfer an injured or ill person from one hospital or place to another, while providing necessary medical care. International medevac has been used in many disasters and conflicts and is a medical strategy used within the NATO alliance. However, scientific knowledge about international medevac:s from the perspective of patients, family and from the health care system is lacking. The aim of this project is to investigate aspects of international medical evacuations.
