This project explores the experiences of social work students in Sweden who, through their education programme and work placements, engage with the ethical and political complexities of contemporary global realities. Using a qualitative approach, specifically focus groups, the project explores how neoliberal discourses, difficulties with connecting theory and practice, and underdeveloped roles and issues within the social work profession intersect to shape students’ experiences.
