Research subject

The overall objective of our research group is to understand how genes and environment influence neurodevelopmental conditions and mental health problems across the life span, to understand the interplay between mental and physical health, to map developmental trajectories and consequences of mental health across the lifespan, to develop and validate risk stratification/prediction tools and to identify the benefits and risks associated with pharmacological treatment interventions.

We primarily use large cohorts identified from national health registers, the Swedish twin register and clinical cohorts. International collaboration is important to us and we are actively involved in several international consortia’s. We have a broad international research and clinical network. Our research is supported by grants from the Swedish research council, FORTE, VINOVA and European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
