Research subject

The research in Mechanical Engineering, carried out by the DPPD research group (digitalized development and operation of sustainable products and production systems) at Örebro University, is since late 2016 focused on digitalized development and operation of sustainable products and production systems. The research is often conducted in collaboration with the industry, in relation to its product, production and service processes, thereby supporting the industrial competitiveness.

Appraoches include:

  • Virtual (model and knowledge-based) product development and production development
  • Monitoring, data management and analysis of data from products and production equipment

while including eco-efficiency and eco-effectiveness as design criteria during development.
