Economics, Macroeconomics, Intermediate Course, 7.5 Credits

The course deals with theory for long-term growth as well as for short-term fluctuations, inflation and unemployment, exchange rates and foreign trade. Theories for the term structures of interest rates and the interaction between interest rates and exchange rates are firmly discussed. Progressing from previous course levels, a more advanced analysis of growth theory, business cycles, the role of financial markets and the labour market will be undertaken. Further the course gives the student the opportunity to carry out some empirical analysis of the business cycle using STATA.
