Software from computer rooms – distance learning

IT Services has made selected programs, such as Matlab, SPSS, NVivo and Microsoft Office, accessible via a webpage that provides access to a local virtual IT environment called RDSH.

As a student, you have access to the webpage from any computer. Access the RDSH online environment here. We are expanding the list of programs available, even if not all programs may be available.

Log in to RDSH
You log in with your ORU account and password (same as you do in computer rooms).

To open files from Blackboard, email, OneDrive or similar, you must first open the web browser Edge once you are in the RDSH environment. Next, download the file(s) to the RDSH home directory by clicking download. Files will be found in the Downloads folder, and you can open them with the programs in RDSH.

If a program is missing or if programs are not working correctly, contact This is an email address.

Problems with email sent to Microsoft email accounts

It has been reported that there are occasional errors when emails are sent to Microsoft-owned email accounts. The reported error consists of some emails, sent from Örebro University correctly, not being delivered to the recipient’s inbox.

Students with personal email accounts linked to e.g. hotmail.com, hotmail.se, live.com, live.se, outlook.com and outlook.se are affected. The reported error causes communication problems with these accounts.

We are currently in dialogue with Microsoft to try and speed up the process of resolving this. If you wish to register a different email address at Örebro University, go to Studenttjänster.

Information on signing up for exams and registering on courses can be found in Studentforum as usual.

Azure Dev Tools for Teaching uses a web-based system (ELMS) to distribute Microsoft software and product keys via the Internet. In Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, each user must accept the terms before the software can be downloaded.

Note! When you have logged in, you need to type in Education in the search box and press the Enter key on the keyboard. This will take you to the software hub from where you are able to download software.
