Om Peter Magnusson

Peter Magnusson är universitetslektor vid Örebro universitet och överläkare vid Kardiologkliniken, Falu lasarett, Region Dalarna. Peter erhöll läkarexamen från Lunds universitet 2001 och är specialistläkare i internmedicin och kardiologi. Han disputerade vid Karolinska Institutet 2020 med avhandlingen Implantable cardioverter defibrillator treatment in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Forskningen är huvudsakligen inom kardiologi, speciellt om hypertrofisk kardiomyopati, hjärtsvikt, rytmrubbningar såsom förmaksflimmer och kammararytmier, plötslig hjäörtdöd, behandling med pacemaker och implanterbara defibrillatorer samt monitorering av rytmrubbningar. Peter har ett intresse för digital medicin, innovation och dess tillämpningar inom patientnära diagnostik. Forskningsmetoderna innefattar epidemiologiska metoder, kvalitativa metoder och randomiserade kontrollerade studier.

Peter Magnusson är Temaansvarig för Respiration & Cirkulation vid Läkarprogrammet vid Örebro universitet. Han undervisar på läkarprogrammet, framförallt på termin 3 och termin 7. Undervisningen innefattar elektrofysiologi, EKG, hjärtsvikt, kardiomyopatier, ischemisk hjärtsjukdom, medfödda hjärtfel, artikelgranskning, fallseminarier samt ämnesöversikt i kardiologi. Peter är representant i programledningsgruppen för Läkarprogrammet. Vidare är han mentor för läkarstudenter och handledare för läkarstudenter inom självständigt arbete/uppsatser och handleder vid magisteruppsatser inom andra vårdutbildningar. Vid Centrum för Klinisk Forskning I Dalarna undervisar Peter inom evidensbaserad medicin, vetenskaplig artikelgranskning, vetenskapligt projekt för ST-läkare och leder journal club.
