Research subject

In the present doctoral project, the degree to which how Swedish paediatric departments facilitate children's voices on their healthcare experiences is studied. The project also includes translation and validation of a questionnaire, called 'Children and Young People – Patient Reported Experience Measure' (CYP-PREM), for children's evaluation of care in Swedish paediatric healthcare.

CYP-PREM was developed and tested with patients aged 8-16 at a hospital in Great Britain. Validation in Swedish healthcare context has included cognitive interviews with patients in Swedish paediatric departments to test and adapt so that the translated questions measure what was intended.

The project is also planned to, through group interviews with department managers, provide knowledge about how the questionnaire can be implemented within Swedish healthcare and how the results can be used in quality work.
