ConsciousTech COST Action - Normative CONSCIOUSness in the TECH community

Technological innovation is transforming nearly every aspect of life, from communication and work to learning, shopping, intimate relationships, and civic participation. Yet those who design and govern technology often lack “normative consciousness”: awareness of the legal norms, ethical principles and social expectations integral to technological practice.

ConsciousTech creates the first European network dedicated to strengthening normative consciousness in the tech community. Bringing together law, computer science, philosophy, ethics and social sciences, it advances three objectives:

(1) conceptual consolidation, by clarifying how norms and values are defined and embedded across different normative frameworks;

(2) empirical grounding, by generating comparative evidence on how normative frameworks are interpreted and applied in practice; and

(3) educational innovation, by translating insights into teaching, training and engagement strategies.
