The research group Stroke and other CNS-injuries work with research on different aspects of stroke and other injuries in the central nervous system. The focus is on clinical research and registry based studies but we are also involved in clinical studies. There is an extensive collaboration nationally but also internationally.

Some of the projects we are involved in now are:

  • Stroke epidemiology, etiology, and risk factors
  • Sex and gender differences in stroke
  • Reperfusion treatment in stroke, effect of EVT
  • Secondary prevention and follow up after stroke
  • Treatment of poststroke epilepsy
  • Antiepileptic medication utilisation after stroke PCI and the risk of stroke
  • How the Covid pandemic affectet incidens and search patterns for stroke
  • Dementia and stroke
  • Cognitive and emotional failure after stroke
  • Spinal cord injuries and reproduction in women
  • Consequences of mild traumatic brain injury (TBI)
  • Biomarkers of TBI
  • Multimodal neuromonitoring
