CAPS - Center for Criminological and Psychosocial Research
About this group
Group information
CAPS is a research group in Criminology at Örebro University with the overall purpose of conducting practically useful research on norm-breaking, criminal behavior, and on psychosocial adjustment and development in a broader sense. The vision for our research in criminology is:
Our research is nationally and internationally leading with a clear impact on the development of knowledge and society.
We have an extensive collaborative network both among researchers nationally and internationally, but not the least among professionals in practice (e.g., the police authority, municipalities, social services, housing companies, and more).
We are regularly commissioned to be experts at national and regional authorities (e.g., the Crime Victim Compensation Authority, the National Board of Health and Welfare, the National Board of Institutions (SIS), the Swedish Board for Medical and Social Evaluation (SBU), Friends, and the Swedish Crime Prevention Council (Brå).
