Pint of Science – tre dagar med föreläsningar om vetenskap på puben
20 maj 2026 18:00 – 20:00 Skjulet, Stallbacken Örebro Öppet för alla
Pint of Science is returning to Örebro!
This May, researchers from Örebro University will once again bring science out of the lab and into the pub as Pint of Science Örebro returns for three evenings (18, 19 and 20 May) of talks and discussions.
The programme features six speakers and topics ranging from cancer research and sustainability to sports science and learning.
Seeing is Believing
How do we make sense of the invisible? Annica Gad (Senior Lecturer in Biology) takes us inside the world of cancer metastasis, revealing how a single protein called vimentin drives tumour cells to move and spread, and whether blocking it could one day stop cancer in its tracks. Jörgen Stenlund (Senior Lecturer in Science of Education) then explores how visualisations shape how we teach and learn science, and why the images we use can illuminate as much as they can mislead. A Pint of Science night where the power of seeing things differently could change everything!
The events are free to attend, but seats are limited.
