Food Porn Symposium is an interdisciplinary event that explores contemporary food desires at the intersection of aesthetics, digital culture, and practice.
On the occasion of the publication of the world’s first monograph on food porn, the symposium brings together leading academics, food stylists, chefs, and food communicators for lectures, panel discussions, performances, and hands-on workshops. Over an afternoon and evening, the symposium examines how visual food aesthetics shape taste, desire, and future food cultures.

16.30 - 17.00 Performative Lecture with Honey and Bunny
Martin Hablesreiter is a leading figure in the field of food design, known for his critical and thought-provoking approach to how we perceive, produce, and consume food. He is a co-founder of Honey & Bunny, a Vienna-based food design studio that explores the cultural, social, and sensory dimensions of food through experimental projects, exhibitions, and research. His work often combines humor and critical inquiry to question everyday eating habits and industrial food production. This time he has promised a performative lecture on the topic of food porn.
17.00 - 19.00 Workshops & Reception: Behind the Scenes of Food Porn
Following the afternoon’s talks, the symposium continues in a more informal format. Two flights down, the space opens up for mingling, tastings, and a series of installations and participatory stations that in different ways explore, play with, and critically engage food porn as an aesthetic and cultural phenomenon.

An interactive station where participants compose and arrange their own food porn-inspired setups. These are photographed and continuously projected into the space.

A multisensory station where the relationship between taste, smell, vision, and perception is put into play.
Edible displays
Mingling food and a raw ingredient installation where materials are arranged for both visual and sensory consumption. Designed by meal designers Malin Renmarker and Olivia Petré.

Mocktails and other beverages – chilled, mixed, and in continuous flow.
