Collaboration in Crises and Transformation

We collaborate with external actors to understand and anticipate crises, promote sustainable transformation, and strengthen individual and societal resilience. The goal of this collaboration is to exchange ideas, create innovation, and provide much-needed research and education to society.
Our researchers and faculty have expertise in a wide range of crises and crisis management, and collaborate with authorities, regions, municipalities, civil society and businesses.
We work based on the collaboration staircase, where the first step and entry point is dialogue. Through informal dialogue, we exchange ideas, get to know each other, and explore common interests and points of contact. Dialogue is followed by consensus, where we develop common goals and results to be achieved.
The goal of the collaboration ladder is to facilitate joint projects that meet the needs of the participating parties, such as research or development projects linked to our partner’s activities.
In the long run, sustainable collaboration evolves naturally as partners continue working towards common goals – together, independently, or in cooperation with new partners.
