Om Omar D Mohammed

Omar D. Mohammed började på Örebro universitet i augusti 2025 som universitetslektor i maskinteknik vid Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik. Innan han började på Örebro universitet arbetade han vid olika institutioner inom både akademi och industri. Han började sin akademiska karriär i december 2005 när han anställdes som biträdande lektor vid institutionen för maskinteknik, Mosul universitet, Irak. Han befordrades sedan till lektor 2009, och han innehade denna tjänst fram till 2016. I oktober 2010 började han på Luleå tekniska universitet för att bedriva sina doktorandstudier. Hans forskning fokuserade på vibrationsbaserad feldetektering i kugghjul. Under perioden 2015-2021 arbetade han inom industrin i Sverige. Han arbetade som kuggutvecklingsingenjör på GKN Driveline (ändrat namn till GKN Automotive) i Köping. Han deltog sedan i ett praktiksprogram på Trafikverket i Luleå, och senare arbetade han som kuggdesignspecialist och också som simuleringsingenjör på China-Euro Vehicle Technology CEVT (ändrat namn till Zeekr), vilket är ett innovationscenter för fordonsteknik under GEELY-gruppen i Göteborg. I september 2021 utnämndes Omar till biträdande professor vid institutionen för maskinteknik, Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University PMU, Saudiarabien.

• Omars forskning handlar huvudsakligen om vibrationsanalys, dynamisk modellering, simulering, kugghjulsdesign, designoptimering, tillståndsövervakning, feldetektering och energiutnyttjande.

• Han handledde flera studentgrupper på grundnivå i deras forskningsrapport och också flera masterstudenter från olika universitet.

• Han publicerade många artiklar i vetenskapligt granskade tidskrifter och internationella konferensbidrag.

• Han fick två beviljade patent.

• Han granskade många manuskript i vetenskapligt granskade tidskrifter och internationella konferenser.

 Undervisning

 • Han undervisade i olika ämnen, inklusive mekaniska vibrationer, maskinelement teknik, CAD-design, kontrollteknik, maskinteori, mekanik - statik och dynamik samt vibrationslab.

 Utbildning
