Om Tim Stubbings

Tim is a Development Strategist within the University’s External Relations team. His main focus is the relationship the University has, or could have, with its ex-graduates (alumni), commercial partners, surrounding communities and other supporters. This includes helping the delivery and development of new engagement programmes, as well as helping improve the processes and systems supporting relationship development.

Life before ORU

Prior to joining Örebro University in 2013, Tim worked for the University of Exeter as their Development Office’s Assistant Director, Head of Marketing & Support. He and his team helped the University, one of the UK’s top 10, stay in touch with its alumni and other supporters – running events, delivering print and digital communications, delivering mass-giving activities through telethons and direct mail, coordinating their volunteering programme, database development and the financial administration of gifts. His team also supported major- and principal-gift level fundraising at Exeter, helping the University exceed its fundraising campaign targets.

Before entering the Higher Education sector, Tim was a practising marketer and branding specialist with over ten years of experience within economic development, inward investment and the ‘place branding’ of countries and regions.

Tim is an alumnus of Britain's Bournemouth University, where he received a BA (Hons) in Media Production.

Other gubbins

As well as his role for Örebro University, Tim is an associate of Graham-Pelton Consulting (a global fundraising and non-profit management consulting firm) working mostly with UK institutions looking to optimise their fund- and friend-raising potential.

Tim is also a volunteer for CASE, the professional organisation for alumni relations and fundraising professionals, sitting on their European Education Programmes Steering Committee.
