Abstract: This talk provides an overview of key methods in motion planning and control, focusing on how autonomous vehicles/robots can operate reliably in uncertain, dynamic, and cluttered environments. Starting with fundamental approaches to trajectory generation and feedback control, the presentation outlines both the strengths and limitations of existing techniques. The talk also explores two ongoing research directions: motion control for navigating uneven terrain using a combination of traditional strategies and learning from demonstration, and coordination in multi- robot systems where partial knowledge of agent intentions is available. These lines of work aim to bridge foundational methods with the practical challenges faced in real-world robotic systems
