Eating and breathing data: Non-Invasive metabolomics and smart sensors for better nutrition

How does diet shape our health and how can we measure it?

In this seminar, Victor Castro Alves will present recent research that applies ingestible sensors and non-invasive metabolomics approaches to track the dynamics of nutrient metabolisation after ingestion.

These methods generate large and complex datasets that capture the dynamic interplay between food and physiology. However, key challenges remain: integrating heterogeneous data streams, identifying causal links, and translating findings into personalized health.

Victor will highlight these challenges and invite for a discussion on how AI, data science, and robotics can help transform raw metabolomics and sensor data into actionable knowledge for nutrition and improved health.
