This research project is part of Elsa Ekelin's doctoral studies. The first subproject examined general practitioners' experience of prescribing weak opioids without seeing the patient through focus group interviews.

The second subproject explores communication between general practitioners and patients with chronic non-cancer pain and opioid treatment. Doctor visits are videotaped. Afterwards the patient is interviewed over the phone and the doctor is interviewed with stimulated recall.
