Perioperative care and Pedagogical Processes (PEPP)
About this group
Group information
PEPP is an interdisciplinary research group that develops knowledge on perioperative care, learning, and health literacy, with the aim of strengthening quality in both healthcare and education.
The research focuses on care before, during, and after surgery, including how care can be organized, how complications can be prevented, and how patients can achieve optimal recovery.
The group also studies how students and professionals learn in healthcare settings, for example, through supervision and clinical placements.
An important area of research concerns health literacy – individuals’ ability to understand and use information about their health. This influences both participation and recovery, representing a key link between care and learning.
PEPP brings together several researchers with their own projects. A growing shared focus is perioperative care for older people, where increased knowledge can contribute to improved recovery and higher-quality care.
The group also includes researchers from Linköping University (Ida Markström).
