University management
The vice-chancellor and university management are responsible for operations activities at Örebro University.
The vice-chancellor is appointed by the government to head up the university’s operations. The deputy vice-chancellor is appointed by the university board and acts as the vice-chancellor’s deputy. The university director is also part of university management and is responsible for the university-wide professional services.
The university’s management team consists of, in addition to the university management, the pro-vice-chancellors and deans for the university’s three faculties. Pro-vice-chancellors are appointed by the vice-chancellor, to head up a special area of importance to the university. Deans are also appointed by the vice-chancellor, assigned the task of leading the faculties’ activities as well as acting as chairperson of the respective faculty board.
