Cancer and Oncology
About this group
Group information
The research group works broadly across several cancer diagnoses, with a particular focus on breast cancer and malignant melanoma, but not limited to these. We use a wide range of methods to better understand cancer, including epidemiological studies, pragmatic clinical studies based on real-world data, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and modern AI tools. We also conduct preclinical research, where we test new ideas in cell models and analyze patient samples.
An important part of our work also focuses on cancer care and nursing. Here, we aim to understand patients’ experiences and needs in order to develop evidence-based practices that enhance their participation, well-being, and function during and after treatment. By combining clinical research, preclinical research, and research in cancer nursing, our goal is to contribute to better treatment outcomes, fewer side effects, and a more sustainable and patient-centered cancer care in the future.
