Årets mottagare av Oskar Sillén-priset är Handelshögskolans Sophie-Marie Ertelt. Priset delades ut av Föreningen Företagsekonomiska Institutet (FEI) den 15/10 2026.

What was your reaction and feelings when presented with the price?
My first reaction was genuine surprise quickly followed by happiness of course. My thesis is perhaps not the most traditional business administration thesis, so I was particularly pleased that the jury recognised the value of its interdisciplinary and somewhat less conventional approach. I was also genuinely happy that four additional professors had taken the time to read an almost 300-page thesis. After spending several years writing it, discovering that people actually wanted to read the whole thing felt like a prize in itself!

What does this price mean to you?
It is a big honour to have my thesis selected from more than 50 doctoral theses in business administration from across Sweden. The prize is an important acknowledgement of the work that went into the thesis, but also of my decision to approach the research in a slightly less conventional way both theoretically and methodologically. It gives me confidence that there is room in business administration research for work that crosses disciplinary boundaries and experiments with different theories, methods and forms of analysis. After the inevitable doubts that accompany a PhD, receiving this recognition feels both reassuring and highly motivating.

Any ideas how the prize money will be used?
I would like to use the prize money to attend international conferences and workshops, or perhaps undertake a research stay. These opportunities would allow me to continue developing my research, exchange ideas with scholars working on similar questions and broaden my international network.
