BSc Project [15HP]: Capturing Player Behaviors in Third-Person Games
In third-person games, players control on-screen characters to achieve a pre-defined objectives. Depending on the game setting and scenario, players may act deliberately or hectically if being under pressure of game factors. Distinguishing between different player behaviors is beneficial for building better games.
Objectives
This exam work has several objectives: - develop a simplified third-person game in a suitable game engine; - develop an experimentation scenario and game script to put players under different conditions, such as time pressure, choice ambiguity, and other; - conduct a pilot experiment to test the platform functionality; - develop a scientifically valid report based on the developed system and collected data.
Required Qualifications
We expect that a successful candidates can program C++/C#/GDScript and has experience playing third-person RPG titles. Familiarity with game engines is a plus.
