BSc Project [15HP]: Developing VR-Based Robot Teleoperation Simulator
In an VR-based robot teleoperation, an operator uses a VR-based interface to operate a robot in real time. Depending on the setting, there are several challenges that can hinder teleoperation, such as time delays, limited bandwidth, unstable communication, etc. The goal of this project is to develop a VR-based teleoperation platform for experimentation with robot teleoperation challenges.
Objectives
The project includes several objectives: - develop a VR-based interface with one of the modern game engines (Unity, UE, Godot); - develop a simple robot simulation environment in IsaacSIM; - integrate all parts using ROS2 framework; - conduct a simple data collection experiment to verify system functionality.
Required Qualifications
We expect that a successful candidates can program Python and C++/C#/GDScript. Familiarity with Unity, ROS2, IsaacSIM is a plus.
