How to improve cooperation between the Swedish Academic Consortium on Chemical Safety (SWACCS) and PSF
SWACCS objectives, status and operation are presented by Assoc. prof, Jana Weiss (SU) after SWACCS background is given by Senior prof. Åke Bergman (ORU)
The meeting host is Åke Bergman.
SWACCS was created in January 2019, right after SWETOX (Swedish toxicology sciences research center) was closed at the end of 2018. SWETOX, 2014-2018, was aimed to unify research and education activities within toxicology sciences at eleven Swedish universities and promotes effective interdisciplinary scientific cooperation addressing any aspects of scientific interest and societal concern within chemicals, health and environment. It was also joint base for science-to-policy interactions for informed decision-making at all levels of society.
The SWACCS objectives are to promote effective collaboration between academic research and education on one side and societal sectors on the other.
- Including all types of anthropogenic chemicals created, refined into, or transformed by the environment or biota
- Relating to human and wildlife health and the sustainability of the abiotic environment.
- Including all disciplines for the creation of a chemical-safe world: science, medicine, engineering, social science, law, and economics.
