Mats, med en lång erfarenhet från hotell- och restaurangbranschen, nationellt och internationellt, undervisar och forskar främst inom ekonomistyrning, affärsutveckling, entreprenörskap och effektivisering.

Mats är Sverige-representant för EuroCHRIE samt medlem i AHFME och deltar regelbundet i internationella samarbeten och konferenser.
