Research environments
Our research is concerned with how inherited characteristics and environmental exposures influence the risk of specific diseases (such as cancer, immune-mediated and metabolic diseases), as well as health in general. A life-course approach assumes that the consequences may differ by age at exposure, that some risks accumulate over time, and there may be a substantial delay between initial exposure and disease outcome.
