What is an Associate Professor
Associate professor is an academic title that signifies a level of competence significantly exceeding that required for a doctoral degree. To be appointed as an associate professor by the MH Committee, one must demonstrate scientific expertise and independence, pedagogical competence, and subject proficiency.
As Associate Professor in Sport Science, Andreas is studying links between physical activity behaviors and different health indicators in aging populations based on observational studies, as well as conducting and evaluating interventions aiming to prevent progression of lifestyle-related diseases through promotion of a physically active lifestyle. Collaborations with primary care and other regional and municipal organizations play an important role in his research projects.
In his inaugural lecture, Andreas presents current research about the role of physical activity behaviors in mitigating age-related declines in physical function and addresses challenges related to promotion of physical activity in aging populations with diverse sociodemographic backgrounds.
We warmly invite you to listen to the inaugural lecture!
