About CFS

The Centre for Feminist Social Studies (CFS) at Örebro University is a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary gender research environment. The CFS research profile is grounded in feminist theory, oriented towards social science, and aims to investigate social and political conditions and phenomenon in the broadest sense of the term.

The CFS environment encourage the use of diverse feminist theories and promotes dialogue between different theoretical perspectives and feminist traditions. The CFS community make us of theoretical approaches such as feminist realism, postmaterialism, intersectional and postcolonial theory, critical theories on men and masculinities, as well as queer and trans theory.

The CFS and its different research groups provide a platform for researchers to come together around broader shared interests and projects.
